Surface Preparation & Application

Surface Preparation

• Remove all loose particles, dust, laitance, grease, oils, and curing compounds.
• Ensure cracks and pores are open.
• Pre-wet the substrate thoroughly without leaving standing water.

Mixing Instructions

• Add water gradually to Tight CWP 491 powder (never add powder to water).
• Mix using a portable electric mixer or a drill with a paddle attachment.
• Only mix quantities that can be applied within 30 minutes.
• Slurry: Add 0.45–0.5 volumes of water per volume of powder.
• Paste: Use less water to achieve desired consistency; do not add water after initial mix.

Application

• Apply two coats of slurry with a short stiff brush or roller.
• For paste, use a trowel to fill voids or damaged areas.
• If thickness exceeds 13 mm, apply in multiple layers.
• Allow the first layer to stiffen but remain fresh before applying the second (0–4 hours depending on temperature).

Curing

• Maintain moisture for 5–7 days to allow crystal growth.
• Protect the surface from direct sunlight, wind, frost, and rapid drying.
• Water reservoirs can be filled 4 hours after application; water pressure enhances crystal growth.

Cleaning Tools

• Wash tools with water immediately after use.
• Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
